I personally would look for coins struck from the Culican mint, as they are often times more rare than other mints, of course depending on the series and year. Look for a Cn mintmark. If they are more modern in nature (after ~1910) then this does not apply.
MS66 taste on an MS63 budget.

BOOKS! Rob, A guide book of Mexican coins would be a nice place to start.

Well books is the answer, but I have almost no interest in these. I do not collect, hoard or accumulate world coins. But my father did. I am just wondering for a few basics, before I dump these coins to a local dealer.

I did pull out the silver pesos, but other than that I have zero clue.

Don't dump them on the local dealer. image I'm sure that you'd get more if you sold them to a board member who collects. Put a price on the lot that you think is fair and sell it here or trade for something that you collect.

If you haven't gotten an answer by the time I get home from work tonight, I'll post the list of keys from "Decimal Coins of Mexico".

Thanks, Mark. I have always believed in sharing of information.

holeinone1972 - you can always pick-up Standard Catalog Of World Coins 1901-present by Krause for your 20th Century pieces, and 1801-1900 for your 19th Century ones. However, those are pretty pricey, especially if you're only looking to attribute a hand-full of coins. You can probably check your local library, as well, to see if they have a copy, or I would even recommend using eBay to look at past sales - that might give you some idea of the price.
