With edges like these, why are they in 8 and 9 holders?

These seem a little odd looking to me too:

Pretty much all the cards from this set listed by "this seller" right now have funky looking edges and all cards are in 7+ NQ holders. I know cards can sit funny in holders, but I don't think it's the case here. What's your guys' opinions?
