The Best Possible Bonds Rookie BGS 10 Pristine on Ebay

I thought I'd point out this crazy Ebay auction for a Pristine BGS 10 Bonds Topps Tiffany Rookie. Never saw one on ebay before. Would make a good story being its Bonds's best possible rookie card in the best possible grade on the eve of his record breaking homerun:

Ebay Bonds BGS 10 Pristine Topps Traded Tiffany RC

What do you think it will get?

Wow, do I agree with lostdart on something? Say it isn't so.

12 posts in 6+ years shouldn't even qualify you to put your spam on the b/s/t board. There are many good guys spending there valuable free time here helping people with hundreds of posts that feel this place is more than just somewhere to push an auction.

My records show the last BGS 10 went for $2,621.71, sold by Consignments at auction number 190048684219 (no longer available).

And before that $2,027.00 from jaysace.

You said that this was the best possible Bonds rookie. I have to disagree. I would think that a 1987 Donruss Opening Day Error would bring 3x more than the Tiffany.

I'd really like to see where you are getting this information. Are you sure you are not talking about the PSA 10 ?
This is 1 level above that and much much rarer.

    Dear Rookiecrd1,

Positive. I, like most people, watch items on ebay. And before I delete the ended auctions from my "Items I'm Watching List" and "Items I Didn't Win" List, I copy and paste the items into a Word Document. Now do I capture each and every one of a certain card that's sold on ebay? Of course not.

Completed items search only goes back, I think two (2) weeks. However, if you have item number, you can still pull up the auction page from six (6) months to almost one (1) year on some occasions. Here's the listings I had for the Bonds BGS 10.

    1986 TOPPS TRADED TIFFANY BARRY BONDS BGS 10 W/9.5 $2,621.71 consignmints(3152) 190048684219 Ended View Seller's Other Items

This was around October 2006. I know that was a BGS 10 because I have a BGS 9.5 selling on September 16, 2007 for $504.99.

    BARRY BONDS 1986 topps traded tiffany #11T RC.BGS 9.5 $504.99 290019363930 Sep-16 View Seller's Other Items

and here's the listing from jaysace

1986 Topps Tiffany Barry Bonds RC BGS 10 PRISTINE 9.5 $2,027.00 jaysace(2217) 220022530949 Ended View Seller's Other Items

and again, here's another BGS 9.5 that sold for around $500.00.

    BARRY BONDS 1986 topps traded tiffany #11T RC.BGS 9.5 $504.99 290019363930 Sep-16 View Seller's Other Items

and then this BGS 10 sold for $1,950.02 in July 2006

    1986 Topps Traded Tiffany Barry Bonds Rookie BGS 10 9.5 $1,950.02 180005688668 Jul-13 View Seller's Other Items

and jaysace had another BGS 10

1986 Topps Tiffany Barry Bonds RC BGS 10 PRISTINE 9.5 $2,247.00 jaysace(2154) 190002791997 Ended View Seller's Other Items

Now, I don't have any PROOF other than what's written here because these completed auctions are so old. So you can take it for what it is worth.

When the BGS 10 first appeared, I saw them going for $5,000.00 to $10,000.00, but those days are long gone. Maybe you can email jaysace and rockbottomsports and ask them about these three auctions.

1986 Topps Tiffany Barry Bonds RC BGS 10 PRISTINE 9.5 $5,655.55 jaysace(2075) 8780575302 Ended View Seller's Other Items

    1986 Topps Tiffany Barry Bonds RC BGS 10 PRISTINE 9.5 $10,153.00 jaysace(1940) 8735891537

    1986 Topps Traded Tiffany Barry Bonds BGS 10 #11 $10,611.00 rockbottomsports(2509) 5216388172

    Cheers,

Looks slightly OC T/B for a Pristine 10 grade from BGS.

    Maybe sheet cut??

I checked my JPG database and found the same card, BGS Serial Number 4233580, save as "4944" on January 7, 2007. Here's a picture:

    image

This tells me the card sold for $4,944 back on January 7, 2007. Unfortunately, I do not have a item number. Bummer, because the auction page would probably pull up. Anybody have any further information on this card?

We knew it was spam from the begining Boba, but im saying the one Jack found back in January is the same one the OP is offering now. Funny I cant find a positive feedback for him as the buyer of this card. If someone paid me $4,944 for a card I sure would leave them a nice feedback.

1.) So he buys the card for $5,000 and will unload for half that (tops)

    OR

2.) He is selling a card he doesn't own???

Either way, not a card I'd be interested in.

Yeah I'm putting up a card on ebay for several thousand dollars that I don't own just so I can spend a few years in prison for grand theft. That makes plenty of sense..... image

You can get away with this kind of stuff on the BGS board and get plenty of wows. Here you better be a straight shooter and post your advertisements in the right place.

    1. Be entirely truthful.
    2. Make better scans.

You aren't a naive newbie, neither is anyone here.

$10K? I can't imagine paying that much for a modern card, even if it deserves a "10" grade.

    Last 10 PSA 10's averaged $1,330

    last 10 BGS 9.5's averaged $761.

    GAI 9.5 sold for $811.

I'm guessing this one goes in the $3500-$4k range. Unless it's ending the night he breaks the record. Then all bets are off.

All I know is that if I had a card I wanted "big money" for, I'd sure as heck make sure I had a better scan of it on my auction page. I just hope you dont spend too much time wondering "what would I have gotten for it if only my scan wasn't excessively blurry."

Hey, at least you added a dark unclear one too, with big bright mack truck lights in it. image
