Red Zone Sports Cards

Anyone ever buy a lot of vintage cards from these guys? They always are selling lots on ebay. I'm not planning on getting any graded, just wondering what kind of luck anyone has had with their descriptions of their lots?

thanks for your input

red zone is also shaqfu1 I believe. I bought a large lot of 55 bowman's. Some looked smalled than others, they seemed very good with their return policy. I had them IN THE BOX ready to go back when PSA had a 50's special.. All came back PSA 5, 6 and 7. I KNOW some people say to stay away, but my personal experience was good buying raw from Shafu1...the return address was red zone sportscards.

Hit or miss with those guys. Expect raw to be overgraded most of the time. I suppose that isnt any different than anyone else on ebay. If they say Near Mint, expect ExMt. They used to deal heavily in GEM but I think they got away from that because of so many issues. Reputation I think has improved. Ive bought a few things from them with never a problem.

there are a billion threads about these guys floating around, try a word search.

i bought a 1969 topps set from them, my very 1st venture into vintage cardboard and was very satisfied. i bought a full set for $1000 3 years ago and it was okay.

they interweave nm/mt and mint around some, so watch your step! ask for images from them, they will send to you, unlike other places that have 10 or 12 shops on ebay that don't communicate dick.

I dealt with them in Graded cards only, very smooth transaction, I recommend them.
  • Shaqfu1 seems to be the only Ebay Store with good prices anymore. Incredible selection too. Amazing how they get all those lots/sets week in and week out.

Nice Mantle psa 6 rc they have up there

Thanks for the input on an inadvertently rehashed topic. I'll be wary.
  • Careful, that user name was one of the names mentioned in the 2005 SCD story about counterfeits. They were selling large quantities of fake Star. Co. stuff (that just resurfaced again with bigboydsportscards3) along with a bunch of minor league baseball cards like Ripken, Rickey Henderson, etc., Sportscasters of Magic, Bird and Gretzky and Starting Lineup cards. They were also selling some SCD-graded cards last year at this time with fake labels...good stuff like 1955 Mantle's in Mint grades, etc. We spotted it because the subgrades didn't match the final grade and the serial numbers didn't exist in our database and weren't even of a format that would have been in our database (ie, too many numbers). BEWARE.
