Just wanted to share a neat TTM autograph experience

I haven't been doing TTM autographs very long. I know that Bob Feller is a fairly easy autograph if you pay is small fee, but he is one of the greatest pitchers that has ever lived. What makes this autograph a little extra special is what he actually autographed. This is a June 2, 1947 Newsweek magazine that features him on the cover. It is very neat to look through it and see all of the things that have changed (and all of the things that haven't changed). He autographed it and sent it back to me in 18 days. Anyway, here is a neat vintage magazine with a Hall of Fame autograph on it.

Great item. This reminds me of the good old days in the early 80's. I used to write to many players all the time. Players like Stan Musial and Ted Williams signed for me through the mail. I also wrote to non HOFers that I liked like Richie Hebner and Ron Cey.

I received a lot but the one that stands out to me most is from Ken Dryden, the goalie for the Montreal Canadians. Back then I usually sent the player 2 3x5 index cards to be signed. One day I opened one of my envelopes and it was from Dryden. Needless to say I was very happy. About a month later, I received and envelope typed with my address. I had no idea what it was. When I opened it, it was a postcard signed by Ken Dryden with a note on the reverse saying...."Bob, sorry but I must have misplaced your index cards. I hope this picture will do. signed Ken Dryden. I was a little shocked but happy when I saw it. I could not beleive a player would take the time to do this. The only thing I could figure is that after he sent me my two index cards, he left the letter laying around and found it a month later without the cards and sent me the postcard as a replacement. This is one autograph I will never sell.

Thanks for thread that brings back some nice memories for me in the good old days.
