Canadian 50 cent contemporary counterfeit

This Canadian 50 cent appears to be a cast contemporary counterfeit. Apparently some mprevious owner or store owner identified it as so by stamping BAD on each side. Makes you wonder why they just didn't throw it in the trash instead of marking and keeping it.

Maybe they kept it for instructive purposes. If they'd thrown it out, somebody might've found it and put it back in circulation. Besides, if some counterfeits had even a little precious metal content, you wouldn't just throw it out, but you might melt it.

    I like that.

    It's BAD.

    To the bone.

    Yeah.

1917 being a farily common date, it must be contemporary.

50 cents in those days was a day's wage.
