SSP and giveaway -Marianne in her bronze glory-Winner in first post!

Every now and then a coin I've had for a while leaps to the forefront - originally from Darkhorse and currently on eBay. I really like this series and wish I had purchased all I could several years ago to complete the run.imagemy eBay store
If you've got some nice ones I wouldn't mind seeing them. image

As for the giveaway, simply post to this thread to participate. The random generator (my 6 year-old granchild Aeon) will pick from a hat of entry slips. The prize: The Doubleday 1971 edition of Historic Gold Coins of the World which includes shipping in the US (sorry, overseas winners might have to participate a little in shipping costs...) All giveaway entries must be posted by 6:00 this Sunday.

Apologies for the large image-my photobucket link to the image kept breaking down. I'll try to replace it with a link again in the future.

Darkhorse had used this very nice coin to illustrate his imaging techniques in that famous old thread that should be ttt-ed soon, before it disappears in the archives.

Here's a 5 centimes from the series, also photographed by Phil, that I owned for a very brief period of time:

Don't enter me, the book is too heavy to be sent overseas anyway, but I really like your grandchild's name.
It reminds me of a film that I've recently watched, Aeon Flux. image

You know I've looked for that thread to view his superior image and couldn't find it. Could you please do the honors Dimitri? (Nice 5 Centimes by the by)image

Laurent, I would be glad to help, but

    a) I do not remember the title and

    b) the image of this coin has long been replaced by the dreadful red x in that thread and it's a shame, because he went to great lengths to explain how to image a splotchy (his term) red brown coin. I had once asked him via PM if he still had it in his archives, but unfortunately he didn't.

Well, thanks Dimitri, it's a shame it's gone. My image isn't bad but simply doesn't convey the pop that this coin has. image
Ah Ha! Mac found it! Thanks wee one! link to thread

    << <i>originally from Darkhorse >>

...who may have originally gotten it from me.

I know I sold or swapped him one or two of those, and fired his early enthusiasm for that design. I can't remember if that nice one came from me or not, though. Perhaps not. I sent Phil some of those type but they might've been browner and lower grade (VF+ to XF-ish).
