Going to Cooperstown / We're Back !!

Well, It's been really slow as far as having jobs the last week or so.
I have been sitting home at least 3 of the 7 days per week for the last month or so, my wife has off this week I figure, roadtrip to Cooperstown.
Haven't been there in quite some time and I got the itch after pics posted on the forum .
Does anyone know if much has changed over there , anything I definitely can't miss ?
Does anyone have anything they would like me to see if I can take pictures of to post here on the forum ?
Thanks for any and all ideas . .

Last time I went , Geeze we made a week out of it , we did some diamond diggin thing , some crazy caverns . . . bunch of stuff ,
But it's been a lot of years . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . ..
I found a newspaper you can put your own headlines on it that my wife and I had some fun with and I thought would be pretty cool to have like really close to me, where I could play gags on people and stuff . . . but
Come to think of it , one of the places we went to right after gettin married was Cooperstown . . .
Can I get a yea man . . .LOL
This time will be more fun because I have a little ME to bring along and I can almost . . . . almost be YOUNG!! again .
Thinkin about bringin one of my baseballs and see if there are any places maybe over there that might be able to tell me more about it , I don't know . . .
I'd love for them to display it there but I think they might have plenty , butcha never know !
anyone else going this weekend? can't wait to see the cards there, as i remember not many deals there for this weekend, but should be a lot of stuff, and different stuff.
i hope we get good weather, an orioles induction is always packed up there (i've seen f. robinson and palmer inducted both packed houses) can't wait to see weaver.

No doubt
But, seeing how eveything usually winds up working backward for me and mostly while I really won't have a chance any other time this year, this is my only time to go:Beer;
It's definitely gonna be a blast no matter how I slice it , But I hear what you're sayin for sure Mr.Baseballfan and I'll be prayin for good weather as well . . .
Was just there last week , 1st time for me man what a place . loved every minute of it . The hall is incredible so much memorabilia to look at . We stopped at a place called Dimaggio`s hot dog for sandwich`s . i recommend it !!
Parking is a nightmare , i suggest using one of the three parking lots , they have a trolley that takes you right to the front door of the hall . definatley check out Doubleday field , thats one cool ballfield . brings back the oldtime feel .
If you like to watch little league play , check out the Dreams Park ... holy cow i must have counted 24 different ball fields with games going on every night of the week .
And after all is done and you need an ice cream fix i suggest Barnyard swing mini golf they have the biggest soft serve cone i have ever eaten . What a great time i can`t wait to go back ...
looking for 1988 Fournier estrellas stickers , 1985 Prism Jewel stickers , anything Jesse Owens .

RIP GURU
If you are not a member of the Hall of Fame I suggest you sign up while you are there
Couple of reasons
You get in free to the Hall - also go in a side door and earlier then the general public but most importantly --- Bathrooms
There is a shortage of public bathrooms -- Doubleday Field -- the secret one at the Chamber of Commerce and the best is in the Hall trust me it will come in handy
Mike
try out Doubleday Batting Cages,right next to the field...great for feeling like your a kid again...
ps..i used to give bathroom advice to incoming Cornellians...SNEE HALL HAS THE BEST TOILETS!
can't wait

My Player Collection Needs
our boys went undefeated, 7 and 0 that week and then got upset in the first round of the playoffs by a team ranked near the bottom of the standings, a heartbreaker for the #3 seed
I have never been to Cooperstown for induction weekend , that absolutely ROCKED !
The first day we got there I met Rollie Fingers and Yogi Berra , they were doing some signings , that was cool {Rollie still has that same stash } we got their auto's on baseballs that my son had brought with him {We went with 10 in hopes to see many baseball players }
I also took my 1932 Yankees team signed baseball because a few of my friends told me to take it to Tom Catal " Mickey Mantles signing agent@ Safe At Home Collectibles in Cooperstown to see if I could find out a little bit more about it and let me just say it was a " SHOW STOPPER " I almost felt famous , everyone gathered around and wanted to see it.
He really couldn't give me any more information than I already know but he fell in love with the baseball and so did his staff in the shop , everyone in there was like " That is the nicest baseball I have ever seen in my whole life and look where I am "
He says " My God this thing looks like it was just signed 10 minutes ago " and I had one gentleman offer me 40 grand for the baseball{But I have had higher offers than that }
Tom said " If that was mine I really wouldn't care about where it came from or if I knew anything about it , as long as I had it" and I guess I feel the same in a way , But I sure would like to know the date it was signed and I wish they would have dated it .
He explained that 40-50 grand is a good price , but @ auction you never know , it could go higher , a lot higher depending on who sees it , there could be a serious battle , he also explained how a lot of the auction houses bid it down , so he was very informative
We spent a lot of time at the batting cages too , but we left late saturday because it was getting really really crowded and lines were just ridiculous , but I picked up a lot of really cool stuff and my son was just in his glory and already can't wait to go back . .
Needless to say though . . . I'm BROKE !
Thanks all, for the ideas of places to see, I appreciate it .
:Anthony:
What an insane amount of Mickey Mantle memorabilia !
Not to mention an honest guy which speaks volumes in a business such as this .
He made me feel so good about what I have and was the best part of the trip for me , so if you ever go there , ask to meet him and tell em Anthony sent ya
The guy with the nicest baseball in the "WHOLE WIDE WORLD "
He'll know who you're talking about . . .
I brought my Cannon 28-105mm to take pics because it just takes way better pics than any crummy digital cam .
