Grading tools?

I was wondering what, if any, tools you guys use for closely inspecting your cards prior to submission. I see "10x loupe" mentioned quite a bit. Is there a certain brand or model of this tool that is preferred? Are there any other tools used? Any tools or techniques used by PSA Graders that are available to the general public? Any help is appreciated.
Thanks!
Thanks!

P.S.- Do not take your 10X loupe in the tanning bed with you, the burns are still healing and I have 10 Griffey RCs with a hole right through them.

halogen lamp to see surface wrinkles is also a must - white light might not get it done.
If you really want to get technical you can buy a pair of calipers to measure t/b and l/r centering. I think you can get those for like $25 off ebay.
I've heard of computer screen rulers being used if you are buying raw off ebay, not sure how those work or where you get them, though
