you win some.......you lose some

in my quest for AU+ original looking Vicky Crowns, I won this one a couple days back:

but.........I lost this beauty today in the Noble live auction (Sydney, Australia)

estimate on that toned beauty was about $150 USD including buyers premium. it closed for about $200 with buyer's premium. that is strong money for an AU example; i think the nice looking toning pushed it higher than usual, as well the weak dollar i'd imagine.

man, our darkside stuff is getting harder and harder to buy for Americans!

I looked at the auction and never bid... I guess I need to look at what some items sold for.

Buying coins from overseas, or even Canada, is getting very expensive.

The Canadian Dollar is now at .96 and the GB Pound is 2.06image

Edited to add: At the CNA, I just bought and asked for prices in US Dollars...

The U.S. dollar is killing us for purchasing... but on the up side some of my coins in my Ebay Store are selling for what I consider record prices... and going overseas.

I can see why that second crown went for strong money; it has great eye appeal!

    Better hunting next time... image

Both very nice, the bottom one with the sharper image, must grade AU59.9, better looking then many UNCs.
