Does any one else think that....

Does any one else think that this is too much corner wear for a PSA 8?

A little, but keep in mind the corners of that card in hand would look much nicer than in the blown up scan.

That thing is a piece of crap. I have a 6 that is nicer than that. They really blew that one. chaz

I looked at the picture before I saw Chaz's post and I thought "6".....

C'mon guys, that's a splendid example. Remember, you'll never regret adding this card to your Registry Collection... you'll only regret it if you don't. image

that's the highest grade i've ever seen Chaz give a card. looks more like a 7 though, little surface dirt too

I'd have guessed a PSA 7 based on the lower left corner (dinged where it looks like the cardboard is seperating or lifed up).

I've seen 8s with corners similar to the other 3 though.

I'd give it a 7 based on the centering and the dinged corners .
Does it seem as if they're a little more generous when grading the Mick ?

i would agree that it is over-graded. to me it seems that they often are somewhat softer on the grading scale on some of the older cards. to me, the way i was taught from a long time dealer (since the 70's) that all cards are graded under the same guidelines. somehow it seems that psa doesnt use the same guidelines all the time. i think that is one of the problems of having the graders specialize in certain types (or eras) of cards. Overall it seems the scale varies quite a bit between graders. i can see that some people will be experts in spotting fake cards of a certain era, but any card grader should be able to give any card the correct grade.

Corners, yeah. But centering? It's no worse than 60/40 both ways.

Exactly how old?? I have stated on here a few times that I think that some cards with those flips were overgraded, why, not sure, but I have seen my fair share with that flip, that I have thought, overgraded?? IMO
