Barry Bonds is already the all time HR King.

frankhardyfrankhardy Posts: 8,046 ✭✭✭✭✭
Last night, Barry Bonds passed Hank Aaron for the most home runs by a major league player. You thought that Bonds just had 753 and Aaron just had 755. Actually, when Bonds now has 762 while Aaron has 761. How did I come up with that you ask? Bonds has 9 post season HR and Aaron has 6 post season HR.

I thought that was an interesting tid bit of info.

I know you're kidding, but there was another thread on this recently. This is a perfect example of why post season HRs should not count...Hank was in the post season twice (57&58. Barry has been in the post season first w the Pirates in '90,'91 & '92 and then w the '02 Giants. Back when Hank was playing, there was only the W.S, w/ modern players like Bonds, there is the play offs since '69, and since '95 first & second round playoffs. This is how guys like David Justice & Bernie Williams have more post season HRs than guys like Ruth & Mantle.

I need to go take a poop in honor the record. If you add little league, high school , college and minors, I might be impressed with the research. I think you may want to add the wiffle ball and stick ball to really pad the total.

Its off to the bathroom to pay homage.

its interesting that you bring up Bond's post-season numbers. until the last post-season his numbers were less than stellar. In fact I recall many people saying that maybe he couldnt live up to the pressure of the post-season, more so when he was with the Pirates.

    below are his stats.

It seems like 2002 is the only year his play in the post-season was anywhere near is regular season play. He played as many post-season games in 2002 as Aaron did in his whole career.
