Wax stains

Is there a way to get rid of wax stains on cards? I have a '54 Bowman card that has a wax stain on the back that I would like to remove (or at least minimize). Thanks for any advice.

OK, I can help you with this. Take two Q-tips. Dip one in sour cream and spread on the stain, and let dry. Take the other Q-tip and dip it in a carbonated beverage- preferrably Schweppe's Ginger Ale. Then freeze that cue tip for 45 minutes, remove from freezer and soak in whiskey. Then you rub the whiskey/Ginger Ale soaked Q-Tip over the dried sour cream. Now here's where it gets tricky- you're going to take a dandelion flower and cut off the yellow flowery part. Press the flowery part over the gluey area and place a heavy book on top and let sit for 12 days. After 12 days are up, removed the book and dandelion flower and rub stained area with rubbing alcohol. That should do the trick.

Wow Lee...I tried that exact thing on a PSA 7ST 1952 Mantle #311. When I resubmitted it actually came back a PSA 8!!!

I saw a similar recipe for removing stains but it also contained EVOO, believe it was an old family recipe.

You guys are crazy. I know a dryer sheet will take wax stains off the front of a card but I've never tried it on the back of one.

Nah, a dryer sheet on the back of a card keeps the static cling down, but doesn't remove wax stains.

How about Hydrochloric acid? That might eat the wax off...

i think the wax actually penetrates the surface on the back which will make it very hard to remove. some kind of solvent might work but then you start getting into "doctoring" the card.
