Bonds hit 2 HR today and is 2 away from Aaron...and guess where the Giants play starting tomorrow?

You guessed it - the Giants start a series tomorrow night in Milwaukee. For those that don't know, that is Bud Selig's hometown. I wonder if he will be there. Hmmm?

then he gomes home for 4 games vs the braves.

go figure he might to it against hanks old team.

i no a lot of people hate this guy. but i respect him for the fact that the media and fans tried to break him but couldnt do it.

and so many athletes have taken steroids in the 90's. and still do now. its about time to end the witch hunt on this one player.

golf stated there is a player taken it in the pga. god forbid someone like tiger woods tested positive.

i hope he breaks the record in the next week. so this whole thing can be put to rest.

plus i think the media has a bigger fish to fry now. mike vick is going to be a story as big as the oj simpson trial!

Because it is so inevitable getting 756 already seems anti-climatic.

Whenever it happens it will happen in San Fran. He won't try to jack one out away from home because he doesn't want to get booed when he does it. He'll want the dopey San Fran fans cheering so he can pretend that the whole world is happy for him. You wait and see.

IMHO it would be funny and would squeeze every ounce of theatricality out of things if Bonds (intentionally or unintentionally) hit one more home run this season to reach 754. By doing so, the race to tie and break Hammering Hanks' record of 755 home runs can be put off until the 2008 season. Bonds could then hard ball the Giants into giving him another 1 year, $17 million dollar contract and another year in the public eye.

It probably won't happen, but Bond's has already made a wise crack about not breaking the record until next year.

I assume that the Giant's ownership and management are secretly hoping that the breaking of 755 by Bonds happens as soon as possible so that they can lay claim to the "Home Run King" being a Giant and then quietly show him the door to the American League (the Angels?) wher he can be a DH until he is 60image

'Dopey' SF fans? Not sure that really is necessary. Were the fans 'dopey' in NY for cheering Giambi, a self-professed steroid user?

Back on topic, Bonds will not hit the record breaking home run on the road - it will surely happen in SF.

    Funny.

Not too long ago, the 'Stros organization was castrated for sitting Biggio.

Bonds does it and not one peep.

Some people can be such hypocrites.

    That is all.

  • I think it would be different if Bonds' record wasn't as important as the 3000 hit club. Everyone knows the importance of 755, even non-fans.

    That is all.

Nope, it's the same fundamental concept.

i agree stitzen, they will sit him so he wont get covered up in garbage thats going to be covering the field, cant wait to see the game, when he does it they will try their hardest for it to be in san francisco im sure, they definately dont want him to break it in atlanta im sure, theres always controversy, they chastized hank in his home stadium, love him or hate him, its coming, lots of records this years, griffeys gonna get 600,sosa already got 600,arod going for 500,clemens with his 350, and some going to get 3,000 hits this year,a few already have , as soon as he breaks the record,i dont know whether to sell his cards to all the bonds fans, or keep em, have to watch what they go for the day he does it i suppose!kinda like the jeter bush card in 2007 topps when it 1st came out, people were paying 350$ for it on ebay ,20$ now,

  • Not really stown.

Joining the 3000 hit club is nowhere near as momentus as breaking baseball's most hallowed of hallowed records. The loyal fans of SF deserve to have it hit in front of them.

Time to unload all those Bonds cards people have been holding on to for the last year or two!

i believe you are right grote15,i got alot of bonds psa'ed in the june special-25 popped today, i got a bonds 10 out of it on something, havnt really had time to look much at the email yet-im glad i didnt invest in any of vicks rookies, i went with randy moss instead,as he was in wvu too,and im in wv,glad i didnt get into pacman jones either lol-usually i pick the ones they say are going to be the best, and they turn out to be the worst, like jeff george in football back in 90's, or todd van poppell was supposed to be the next nolan ryan, neither one of them lived up to the hype!

I think the Brewers pitchers should throw Bonds 80-85 mph fastballs down the middle with no movement. He isnt going to try and jack one....what a disservice that would be to his team if he purposely did not do the best he could. That would prove some big time selfishness....but then again, it isnt anything we dont already know.

Being Bud Selig's team (ok, a team still within the family - didn't he turn it over to his sister?) do you think he he would have some input that "throwing 80-85 mph fastballs down the middle with no movement" is not in the best interest of baseball?

oh, like he isnt going to do it anyway? And anything to do with Bonds "good for baseball"??? please. Bonds and "good for baseball" is an oxymoron.

i think hes the biggest pri ck in base ball, his momma probably dont even like him, he treats the media like dirt as well as other players, he needs a severe attitude adjustment, under the dugout, their benching him now so he wont get covered up with 10,000 ounds of trash in milwaukee, maybe atlanta too, he sure dont want to break it there, hell want it in frisco so at least somebody will cheer, hope he gets it on the road myself, time will tell, might not ever hit another one ,which would be pretty damn fuunny in my book
