  • P.S.

there is a phrase, "throughout the storied season..." in the auction descrption.

    Storied is actually an anagram....

I really thought this thread was going to go in another direction from the title

That ball sold in 1999 for $3 MILLION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes Three MILLION, now they expect $30,000...........WOW HOW THE MIGHTY HAVE FALLEN! >>

It was the Mcgwire #70 that Todd McFarlane bought for 3 million not Bonds #70. Todd also owns Barry's #73 homerun ball from that season(i think he paid about half a million for it)

If I had a few hundred thousand to blow, I'd buy it, call a press conference, stick a syringe in it, and then destroy it.

Anything over the $12.95 value of the ball is a profit for the person that sold it!!

is anyone else upset about Bond's 2 homeruns?
I'm building a 1968 and a 1970 Topps set. I have lots of 1970s and 1960s to offer in trade.
  • Why would anyone be upset about him hitting two home runs today?

Because I have him on my fantasy team and didn't expect him to play today...and benched him.

    D'oh!

lol-good answer -beisdes that hes a a -1 pr ick, might hit 3 more today too against milwaukee and be done with it, or not for another 2 weeks, hes getting up there in age, been playing a little over 20 years+ ,i just wish it would happen and get it over with, im getting really sick of hearing about bonds and his billboard sized head ego lol i hope he dont come back next year, noone would want him but the giants i dont figure, especially if he dont get 3 more this year, surely he can do that and be done with it so a-rod can over take his record in a few years!
