SOLICITING SUBMISSIONS!! ALL GRADES IN!

BAJJERFANBAJJERFAN Posts: 31,017 ✭✭✭✭✭
I'm putting together a submission package to PCGS. So far its modern $14 a coin and economy $18 a coin. I got what I need for the minimum of each so if you have something to send in PLMK by PM or email.

I believe that all but maybe one of your packages has arrived in good shape. I hope to get them out in the next few days. Will post updates here as available. When I hear that PCGS is in receipt of the package I will post the submission numbers here and make them public as well so that you may check them on your own as they meander the happy halls [no pun intended] of that great grading sanctuary.

    Quick question:
If I submit say 10 silver eagles and so does someone else (in the bulk submission) how do I know that out of the 100 eagles submitted mine are the 10 MS70s and his are all the MS69s?

Could you (or anybody else) please also send me a PM regarding the answer to this very same question. Not meaning to impugn PGCS (because I'm sure by the nature of their charter they HAVE to be honest) but concerning an inadvertant mixup or some other oddball screwup, how does one know one's getting back the same coins after slabbing (especially if one doesn't have digital camera facilities)? Also, forgive me => I'm really new here... but what do people mean when they refer to a bulk submittal? I sure don't see that on a list of PCGS services (?). Sorry for the stupid questions...

    ..................

First off I have enough for submission at the moment.

Two I guess you would have to trust ME not to switch coins on you, esp if I was submitting the same coins as you which in this case I'm probably not.

Three, each coin submitted has its own line on the form and is assigned a cert number based on that. So I could list a quantity of 10 on line one and each coin would be identified as

    XXXXXXXX-1

or I could list on lines 1 thru 10 and each would be identified as
    XXXXXXXX-1 XXXXXXXX-2 on thru XXXXXXXX-10
Smoeone else's coins would be on different lines.

As to whether PCGS mite mess up? It happens, but thats out of my control.

Hi Thomas - I wasn't inferring that you would mix them up, just asking how would you know when 100 slabbed coins are received back from PCGS which were mine and which were someone else’s.

I had one friend ask [but not on here] how could he be sure that I didn't switch coins on him BEFORE I made up the submission form. Answer was he couldn't unless he dint trust me or he marked his coins with a chopmark or dremel tool. All coins are listed on the form and then the flip is labelled so that it corresponds to a line on the submission form, esp. important when several people are submitting the same coins. I make very sure that I don't mess up.

Anyone have pics of the 57-D Lincolns? I suspect they are mint set coins and the submitter got hosed.

I have pics of similar coins that were from the same roll that made it into NGC holders and are 100% NT.

I will try to post pic's tonight.

I wouldn't mix up everyone's coin in a bulk submission. Your 10 would be distinguished from others' similar coins by their unique line item position on the submission form.
