Yes, you were happy from 1979-1984

Your owner stole the best baseball player Mr. Pete Rose and he helped your team win. That being said The M.F. New York Mets will always be the better team in the NL East. The sillies have lost 10,000 games-look it up WORSE than the Cubs ha ha ha. I like Cheese Whiz on my cheesesteak. Mike

Revisionist history. You should do some homework before making comments such as that. Rose shopped himself around from team to team and was determined to get out of Cincinnati. I believe the Phillies didn't even make him the best money offer. Rose chose the Phils because he was already friendly with a number of the players, plus he saw an opportunity to help lead a team to a championship which he did.
  • So what if the Phils have 10k losses...just a meaningless number thrown out there by ESPN in order to hype up a sports-lacking season. As far as the Mets go, the Phillies have a nearly 100 year head start on them.

<< <i>IMO, Pete Rose was not the best player in the late 1970s or really ever during his entire career. >>

Who ever said he was the best player? The highest paid player isn't necessarily the best player.

Oh I just looked and saw the OP stated what he did. More revisionist history.
