Could someone tell me how many 2000 P "wounded - speared eagles have been graded & the grades by PCGS and ANACS.

There are about 200 Wounded eagles slabbed by ANACS and five by PCGS. I hope this helps.
got any pics?? not familiar with "wounded eagle"
Thanks,
snman
i was curious of how many are graded. orgianally I wanted to send mine to NGC, they told me they dont grade these ?? maybe that is why so many are graded with ANACS
i took a picture of mine before i cleaned it - it sure was a mess but i got a 63 out of it
you can see the line bumps on the eagles breast plate and above on the wing its sorta in the middle of the picture
If you have access to the new Red cherrypickers book on page 365, it shows a better picture

You get the Cold Case Detective award.
Wow - that is an old thread - I saw my pic on the side - said ---- What ???
thanks for the updated links - I remember selling that coin and someone put it in a PCGS slab.
I remember cleaning the coin because it had "Frosting" on it - In the PCGS slab on ebay - i could still see the outline of the frosting
I was dollar coin searching at the time before the Pres. series came out.
Since there are no active images of the Wounded Eagle, in this thread...here is my PCGS MS66

nice images. can you confirm there is more than one gouge in that area?
You're very welcome. Glad to help. Is there a rule here that says you can't resurrect an old thread?
I find I can get most of the answers to my questions just by searching old threads and posts. I came across yours and found it interesting. I have an interest in these speared eagles and small dollars as well.
I can't seem to post pictures yet because I guess I'm to new to the forum.

Yes, there are two gouge lines running parallel to each other. You can't really see them in @oih82w8 pictures.

thanks for the link!
i will say ebay is probably last on my list of go-to sites for technical confirmation. i have seen more than 2 gouges from CF images but i don't know what the actual full count is. i am also a vammer, so i crawl all the way up inside a design for pups.
that level of insanity thoroughness has led to discoveries all over the numismatic (usa) map. this is for some people and not for others.
I was just showing you the eBay picture for an example. How about this one?

NICE!
that does clearly show the 2 gouges the variety was probably named for. i will presume the other gouges i've seen outside that area are/were not pertinent.
I guess. Not sure which other gouges you were referring to.

Sorry Snowman, didn't mean to hijack your thread.

I see three gouges from the image above, enlarged below, unless you count the "one" that appears to go through the eagle, then it would be "two".

thanks for getting back with me. that image is a bit blurry but i am pretty sure that is one of the other ones i saw from a CF image but not being able to rotate the image, i wasn't for certain and it looked like you may have access to a rather nice specimen!
Image updated, still not great, but better.

no big deal - all the threads here are for all the members
I did find a picture of that coin I found 15 years ago
It had been so long since you’d last posted to this thread, I would have thought you’d melted by now.😉
