Have you guys played "Pinch Hitter 2" yet?

This is a little different. You have challenges to meet and can eventually wotk your way up to the majors:

My daughter was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at the age of 2 (2003). My son was diagnosed with Type 1 when he was 17 on December 31, 2009. We were stunned that another child of ours had been diagnosed. Please, if you don't have a favorite charity, consider giving to the JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation)

Oh no . . . here goes another couple weeks of my life.

I've made it to little league, but I'm now faced with the sad reality that I only have warning track power.

  • Conquered it! Win a World Series is the last task before you can get to the free play round. To Win a world series, you have to score 8 runs. You have baserunners on a small diamond. That was probably the most fun task. Now the game is just like the original, only in the big field. My best after three games is 10,000+ points.

I've made it all the way throught to free play. My best score is 38,570. I was just a few points short of scoring in the top 100 in the world!!!!!!!

    Skinpinch,

There is a little bit of difference in the free round vs the original. In the original, after every out, you loose half of your points. In the free round, you never loose half of your points. You loose so much for every strike (250 pts, I think), and you loose so much for every fly out (1000 pts, I think). Also, I don't think you get an extra ball for every home run. You do, however, get an extra ball on the LAST ball every time you hit a home run.

  • Frank,

I got 42,773 and made the leaderboard.

im in major leagues now. but this 20,000 points thing is driving me crazy tried 11 times now get to like 18,000+ every time then i either miss a pitch or they catch it. @$@%@%$@#$@^%@%^@ getting late now. will try couple more times. then try again another time. lol

thanks for the site cures boredon for an hour.

In the MAJORS! Like Kuhlaman said the 20K point thing is a nuisance!
  • LOL!

On my journey to complete the task to the end, do you know what task gave me the hardest time???

The second one in the sandlot! The one where you have to go ten pitches without making an out or a strike! This level took the most tries for me to pass out of all of them. I got 20,000 points at MLB level on my second try, and I won the World Series on my first try, but I kept making an out in the sandlot second level!

If you are that close, you will make it.

And now when I go back to do the 20,000 again, I may go five games in a row without doing it.

I am embarassed to say how many times I have tried to get 20,000 points and not be able to complete it. I kind of enjoyed playing in little league anyway. I like the stadium better image

I have made the leader board 3 times.

I was getting into a real big rut about lining out to those little buggers. Finally, I made an adjustment and started with my bat just a hair lower and I started popping them over their heads for HR's. The most I have gotten is 29,983.

Funny you mention that - I can't get past that level! I think I got 8 or 9 in row several times, and always swing and miss near the end. I want to get past this little league level!
    image
  • Best way I've found to get past that level is to just swing above the ball, instead of popping them out you'll hit all grounders. Score in that round doesn't matter.
  • perkdogperkdog Posts: 30,658 ✭✭✭✭✭
Anyone still having issues getting past the 20K level in the majors? I cannot do it!
  • kuhlmannkuhlmann Posts: 3,326 ✭✭
perkdog i am embarassed to say this. i have tried over 100 freaking times. and not broke 19,300 yet! i almost punched my computer screen the another night. i gave up for now. but its like an issue i have to accomplish now!
  • perkdogperkdog Posts: 30,658 ✭✭✭✭✭
Man I hear ya! A couple of times I got to 19K + and swung and missed on the last pitch, I scream at my computer and my Girlfriend yells "Are you letting that stupid game get you mad" image..........ahh yes.
  • stownstown Posts: 11,321 ✭✭✭
I couldn't get 20K either and gave up.

But nooooooooooooo, you just had to bump this thread and suck me back in.

Getting the 20K was very tough.
Got lucky and hit 2 homeruns through those 2X's to finally do it.

Level 10 - trying to score 8 runs is fun. You have to hit 'em where they ain't ...

I too am stuck trying to get 20,000 points. From now on I need screen shots of these supposed 20,000+ point rounds before I believe them image

  • Frank, I am stuck at my previous high too. I have given up trying to top it, and I just play the World Series 8 runs.
This game at times gets me more frustrated than golf.
  • Morgoth, I don't know how to save the screen like the others, but I printed a hard copy of a game I just played two minutes ago. I got 28,768. It made the leader board. The sheet gives you the following information...

    Balls
    1389

    Home Runs
    285 (20%)

    Strikes
    545 (39%)

    Best
    42,773

I swing and miss a lot, but it pays off. I am probably better at this game as opposed to the first version...because I ALWAYS made an untimely out to knock me ridiculously down from 60k to 30k. I almost threw my computer out the window with that game.

I like this game where the outs don't kill you as much.

you want to swing the mouse with and uppercut and to the left as the ball passes and be sure to clock the mouse fast, not hold it down, the quicker the click, the bigger the hit!!!
  • Yes, you have to hit the ball near the very end of the bat. Even if you hit it in what looks like where the sweet spot should be, it won't go out of the park.

If your mindset is to pull, then it will be tough. I have still not found the timing to come anywhere close to consistently pulling a home run. Almost all my HR are to center...and for some reason I 'forgot' how to hit them to right.

Perkdog....now you can yell at the screen every time you try and beat your best score image.
