Actually that doesn't appear to be a bad card at all. Assuming BVG was cognizant enough to note any hidden creases/wrinkles when grading, that could be one to go for. When the images are clicked, a little better-sized image appears.
Anyhoo, moot point, as any reasonable seller of a Ruth card should be willing to provide a larger scan to an interested bidder who contacts them, which is what I'd do if I wanted this card.
Do I want this card? Sure! Just can't afford it right now.

Unfortunately, you're quite right, the auction will get yanked quick if eBay catches that PayPal line... you can't say you'll accept it and then place restrictions on fees.
Gentlemen, I'm going to show my ignorance here, but I've been out of collecting for quite awhile. I got out before graded cards became what they are today. My question, why would anyone want to resubmit a card from Beckett Vintage Grading to PSA? Is Beckett's grading system not as thorough as PSA? Any explanation would be highly appreciated. Of the graded cards I own, none are Beckett graded, and 95% are PSA, but I had always assumed Beckett to be of high quality.

because you are on a psa board. go to the sgc board they will claim sgc is the best. then go to the beckett site and they will say bgs is the best....with that being said no one on here can offer a TRUE valid reason why one is better than the other its just preference and easy to talk down other companies. whom you do not invest in.

I'll go first. For 2 years all I bought was bgs cards only to be disappointed when they arrived. So called bgs 9.5's that would happily abide in psa 8 slabs. I have plenty of their garbage stowed away in my closet. Granted there are some good cards in ther slabs but for me the risk of buying them anymore is too high. I had a thread with scans of alot of them but I have since removed the pics.
All grading companies have their problems but for me psa has less than beckett

think what you want lawnmower....but just for the record i'm a suporter of psa,bgs/bvg, and sgc i feel comfortable with all 3 for the most part..(and i'm not here to argue who's better. but rather just read and share stories) i just think its funny a negative thread about bvg will get 50 replies to where to a gentlemen who posted earlier about resubbing his psa back for a sub bump was rejected (evidence of trimming) when it came straight from a psa slab. and he feels he may have more altered cards slabbed. needless to say that thread did not get much attention. i myself have had atleast 8 or 9 psa 10's come back bgs 9's and 1 8.5 and vice versa. so i don't do crossovers remember its all subjective and NO company is 100% perfect otherwise threads would not go poof over here everytime something is discovered. emmit gator card, specualtion on the famous honus wagner, ext. so please don't put your'e labels on me when you don't know me.. like bgs supporter. its rather ignorant.

yes it would your'e 100% correct. but im not a bgs supporter that bags on other (top) grading companies and only supports ONE. i just don't want you or anyone else for that matter thinking im the southerncards of bgs. Its all good.
I am at psa because of past experiences dealing with and buying bgs slabs. I wasnt happy and went somwhere else.
If you think BVG is as good as either PSA or SGC I am sorry to inform you that they are not. They allow way to many trimmed and sheet cut cards into their holders, in my opinion, as well as the opinion of most of the knowledgable card people out there. And before you go labeling me a PSA apologist i suggest you read some of my recent posts ( of course some were on threads that went poof in the night). If they were as good why do their (BGS) vintage cards consistantly sell at heavily discounted prices to PSA and SGC when beckett certainly has the most name recognition?
Certification of coins is very much like cards in that there are one or 2 companies that have really distanced themselves ahead of the rest due to their grading, authentication, value, guarantees, resale value, and last but not least Reputation. The list is rather simple for coins, PCGS and NGC, and just as simple for cards PSA and SGC.
Cards and coins, especially rare or expensive ones, housed in holders other than the ones pointed out will always be viewed with the attitude of "I wonder why that's not in a PSA/SGC holder".

i think the higher prices are not due to being "better graders" but rather. PSA was the originators and took in a good amount of people early that have deep pockets. They are pretty hard minded and think if it is not PSA it is trash. they also have the best registry, and those same people that have the deep pockets are very competitive, therefor you see the higher realized value on the vintage as most say and in many cases. so why witch hunt a guy who has an opininion? i collect what i collect as you do I'M NOT GONNA SAY YOUR WRONG. simply because its not my place.. so you say bvg grades sheet cut cards others say psa slabs counterfeit ripken minors and emmitt gator cards. hmm. looks like both make mistakes.. but since they are human i guess that may happen from time to time.. its really stupid of me to try to explain any arguement here.. THAT IS TWO SIDED because only one side wants to be heard as i said i don't expect you to expose the faults of what you collect but rather what you don't. i wasn't trying to hurt nobodys feelings by expressing my opinion.
What goose says I agree 100% with - BUT, on a case-by-case basis, I feel this particular card would've been OK. Barring any severe creases/wrinkles. It was a VG-EX Ruth, borders seemed good, wear seemed appropriate, no sheet-cut card there... I would imagine it might cross over successfully to PSA. All that said, if I were to have bid on it, I would've needed a larger scan.
Comments
I sure wouldn't buy it with that tiny scan on ebay though.
