Gold Coin help ???
These coins belong to my so to be brother in law.
I don't really know anything about gold coins much less mexican coins.
any info about them would be great.....

They are dated 1947, but struck in a year much later than 1947.
I remember there was a cutoff date back before foreign gold was legal to buy but can't for the life of me remember what it was.

The one dated 1943 is even more rare (89,000 pieces), but as you can see it doesn't have the 50 peso denomination--just the weight. It was the only year they did that. It too is worth about $1,000 (assuming MS64).
The other two are worth their weight in gold, but not much more.
The 1931 looks exceptional and it could very well grade considerably higher than the others. Very hard to tell with that image and I could be way off. Those clear plastic flips could be PVC, too, so I'd get them out of there asap.
My advice: Don't clean them. Get them slabbed or sell them on eBay. 50 pesos do very well there. As I understand it, PCGS has or will have registries for Mexican coins soon?
