OT: Has anyone tried Paypal Money Market Fund?

I am really curious if anyone has experience with Paypal's Money Market Fund. If so, any good or bad news? Any information will be helpful...thanks!

I've been signed up with this for several months. No problems at all & helps to pay for/offset my monthly ebay store fees. So far so good!

I use it, too. It's good for a few bucks a month, and I haven't had any problems with it.
  • I have it, no problem here, if you make $500+ in interest you have to report it to the IRS.

I wouldn't keep too much money in Paypal, since they are always freezing peoples accounts,

If you really want a good Savings account with a pretty good rate of interest go to INGdirect.com they always have offers of $25 just to sign up and give a pretty good return on interest.

Second on the INGDirect reommendation. They are currently offering 4.5% on a regular savings account (no minimum) and 5.35% on a 12-month CD.

Collecting 1970s Topps baseball wax, rack and cello packs, as well as PCGS graded Half Cents, Large Cents, Two Cent pieces and Three Cent Silver pieces.
  • Good info...thanks guys!

The PP MMF is a free perk and there is no reason why you shouldn't take advantage of it. Nothing to do on your end and even if you don't keep much money in the account you do earn the interest.

ING Direct is the meaning of technology. I love the convenience of it. I recommend it as well.

But, no I have not used the Paypal MM fund. I should look into that

I'll agree with not keeping money in your paypal account due to freezes, and setting up an account in ING instead.

Always looking for Topps Salesman Samples, pre '51 unopened packs, E90-2, E91a, N690 Kalamazoo Bats, and T204 Square Frame Ramly's

  • Paypal cannot freeze accounts on a whim like they used to due to the lawsuit they settled last year with 12 states made it more difficult for them to do so. They now have to have proof of fraud, used to they would freeze accounts just for suspicion of fraud.
