positive vibes?

I keep seeing threads talking about trimming and searched boxes and Ebay ripoffs and grading companies sucking and unethical sellers. It can't all be this bad, can it? Being sort of new to this subculture, all of this talk is pretty disheartening. I'm sure there are others out there feel similarly.

So in an effort to bring some positivity back into play, let's try something. This will be a happy, educational thread.....hopefully.

Give me some names of sellers who you feel are very fair and trustworthy. And mix it up. Who is best for unopened boxes?: Who is best for vintage ungraded singles? Who are the sellers on Ebay that you really don't need to worry about? Educate us newbies. Let this be an opportunity to praise those sellers with integrity who bring some positivity to this business.

There are two people I constantly buy from. The first is eastendcards. You would not believe some the cool stuff that Dave sells. He's based out of Louisville, KY. He's never cheated me and always, and I mean always, cuts me a deal. Eastendcards is his ebay ID.
The second is baseaces. He's in Columbus, OH. This guy always gives me a great deal on just whatever I want.

Hands down, though, eastendcards is awesome!

PSA-Set-Guy on ebay is great too.
  • Steve Novella, Kris Keppler, Vic Stanley, and Peter Lalos are 4 dealers I would have no worries in recommending to anyone.

I think it really is as bad as it seems, these threads help us sort out some of the bad ones.

On a positive note, I couldn't possibly list all the sellers I "feel are very fair and trustworthy", I have over 400 of them listed in my feedback. image

Don't forget the deals with people on this board. I've done a lot of buying/selling to people here and wish I could do more.

Agreed, I have bought quite a few cards from him lately and no problems.
  • For unopened boxes/packs- Steve Hart- BBCE. I doubt that you'll find any complaints from board members and when a board member organizes a group rip, the case/box is almost always purchased from Steve.
I've also had nothing but smooth transactions w/ board members (including jskirwin and favrefan1971)

So basically my kid won't be able to go to college, but at least I'll have a set where the three most expensive cards are of a player I despise ~ CDsNuts

I have to disagree with this one, there have been threads on him (duke 4 life) and his slow shipping, crappy packing, and his failure to communicate. I stood up for him in that thread, but now I agree. I just bought two graded cards from him, for a total of over $200. How does he ship them? In a PSA box, with no padding, no peanuts, no sleeves; just two slabs with no padding flapping around in a box made for 15 slabs. I try to email him about this, do I get a response? no, none at all, I finally just gave up and decided not to buy from him again.

I agree with steve hart, good unopened material.

cjm13 - Chris is always really pleasant and he publishes newsletters that help unopened collectors learn about stuff too - his last one was about topps rack trays.
