Am I missing something?!?

Here is a listing for a recently sold BVG 9 Walter Payton rookie: http://cgi.ebay.com/WALTER-PAYTON-1976-Topps-ROOKIE-CENTERED-RC-BGS-BVG-9_W0QQitemZ180131567483QQihZ008QQcategoryZ16299QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

The recent PSA 9s have gone for basically half of the BVG 9. What is the deal? Is there something outstanding about the BVG card that I'm not seeing? Aren't BVGs a step down from BGS 9 AND PSA 9?!??
By the way...I don't have attitude or anything. This is a legit question and I'm hoping to learn something.

bvg is not a step down from bgs it is there vintage division. as far as psa i don't believe its a step down from them either. this is a psa board so hence you will hear more support for psa.. just like if you go to sgc boards. there not there to talk down what they collect. i truly believe there are many nice cards to be had in bvg holders as well as a few bad but show me a company thats perfect.

You're thinking of Beckett's BCCG service branch. Absolute garbage and if you ask me, does nothing but take away credibility with BGS/BVG.
