New finish on Proof 2007 ASE
Perhaps this has already been reported, but I was taking a (very) close look at my 2007 Proof ASEs and noticed that the devices have a different finish than the 2006s (and earlier years) have. The sandblasting is much more coarse, matching that on the "reverse proof" coins. It also has the effect of softening the design. Bad decision, mint. As these are the only 2007 proof coins I have at the moment, perhaps someone else could tell me if other proof coins were produced with this different finish.

I haven't been keeping up. Is the mint using laser engraving for the dies now?
