Help with value of this 34 Diamond Star Variation...lowest pop in set

Hi all...dont collect this set, but came across this card. Am looking for value if someone could help. This is the lowest pop card in the set by a 2 to 1 ratio. Total pop is only 15 cards and the next closest in the set is 28. Super tough variation and higher grade cards virtually dont exist.

Here is the pop report...

  • It is the 1934-36 Diamond Stars (R327). A lot of the cards had variations, as such with this one. However, there is no price differnece in the variations (at least on this card). There is another one on eBay, same grade, same variation, identical to this one. Check out item number 150136270784. I thought they were the same at first until I looked at the PSA serial numbers. I was going to quote you a price of $25-$35 and the one on eBay has a BIN of $27.00. Good Luck!

Including the sale today and two other 4s that sold last November, the average price was just over $21.

Pics are no longer posted for the other two auctions.

Although I can' t guarantee this is the case here....I not a Diamond Stars expert........there's often a problem with PSA's population report regarding variations, and here's what it is: (In fact, for reference sake, this is why the t205 Wilhelm variations are wrong as far as scarcity in the PSA report...the one with the higher pop in the report is BY FAR the toughest):

PSA's pop reports often didn't take some variations into account right away. The lumped 'em all under a single listing for a player. Then, when a variation becomes known or popular, PSA's pop report begins to separate the two variations, keeping track of each variation that gets graded after that point. BUT for some reason, PSA has sometimes lumped all the ones that were graded PRIOR to the separation of the variations in under the pop report for only one of the variations. Doing that puts all the cards graded to that point under the category of one of the two variations causing it to look like one is very rare and other isn't, even though this may not be the case all.

I can't say that's what the deal is here, but maybe. I digress..........

The heck with value - that's a very nice card for the grade. I wonder what the back looks like.
