Question re 1955 Bowman baseball

I am upgrading my 1955 Bowman set, which is probably VG-EX overall. Several of the cards have red lines on the left or right border. I guess this is somewhat of a miscut? Am I correct that these lines on the borders decrease the value of a 1955 Bowman baseball? Thanks for your replies.

The line you speak of is the "cutline". The 1955 Bowman set is notorious for sizing variations - and that cutline is not unusual. The presence of the "cutline" will not necesarily make the card OC or miscut....I have seen PSA 9s with a "cutline"

I agree with lostdart. Here are some scans of some PSA 7's and 8's that show what I think you are talking about.

Thanks again to all for the advice. Since my set is VG-EX/EX, I doubt that I will upgrade on cards in the set that have the "cutline" if they otherwise grade VG-EX/EX. I'm not on the board much, but it sure is great to have fellow collectors help with questions like this!!!
