Topps Heritage Chrome Baseball Sets

Hi,

Do any of you know what the various chrome sets for 2001-2007 Topps Heritage are worth--as in, what would bring if one came up on eBay? I guess my question applies to the chrome sets, chrome refractor sets (for 2003-07), and black refractor sets (200?-07). Thanks in advance!

I was able to find a few partial sets in the completed eBay listings, and a complete 2007 Topps Heritage Chrome set for $200. There is a 2004 Topps Heritage Chrome set for sale now on eBay with no bids (as of 7/6) and a reserve of $250.

Those prices seem pretty fair. Could you put the set together for less than $2 a card? I would think that just the shipping alone would be close to $200 if you tried to piecemeal it 4-5 cards at a time. They are only worth what someone will pay for them, but $200 or $250 seems pretty fair to me.
  • A black refractor set from any year would sell for decent money.

I agree that the 2007 and 2004 prices seem fair. I'm just curious about the other sets. The prices on 2001 Heritage Chrome singles seem like they'd add up pretty quickly if one was to try and put together a set. Not sure about 2002 or 2003, the refractor years, or the black refractors. The 2007 Black Refractors are going for quite a bit (IMHO).

Thanks for your responses guys. Keep 'em coming. image

    Retrocards,

How much is "decent money"? $1,000? Higher? Much higher?
  • Yeah, I think a set of black refractors would fetch $10/card, maybe more. The 2001 regular chromes would probably be just as high for a complete set.

List of the prices for 2001 heritage chrome on completed eBay auctions:

    Barry Zito $36
    Kevin Brown $29
    Barry Bonds $50, $92, $107
    Tony Gwynn $55
    Alex Serrano $13
    Eric Munson $13, $15
    Gary Sheffield $27
    Mike Piazza $33
    Sean Burnett $20
    Edgar Martinez $24
    David Parrish $49
    Mark Quinn $27
    Victor Hall $25
    Mark Mulder $60
    Mark Redman $20, $20
    Terrence Long $27
    Tom Glavine $50
    Mike Hampton $50
    Adrian Gonzalez $20
    Darin Erstad $19
    Juan Uribe $15
    Victor Hall $19
    Pat Burrell $20
    Sean Casey $20
    Troy Glaus $16

Total (for 25 cards) $768 (Bonds at $80).

Seeing as the above list is fairly representative of the mix of stars and commons, I'd think that it might cost upwards of $2,500 to piece a complete set together on eBay. A set listed with a buy-it-now below $2,000 would probably go instantly.
