Do multiple auctions at the same time hurt card prices?

I will be selling some cards to help pay for college. I noticed that Mastro, Mile High, and Memory Lane (plus 3 others) all have auctions in late July-early August. The same thing happens in October and December. My gut feel is that having multiple auctions compete for the collector's dollar will not bring the best value as when only one big auction is going on. The cards are from the late 1960's so they're not that rare just high quality (9-10). Any experience with this? Any opinion? Or am I just over-analyzing this looking for excuses not to sell...

    Joe,
    I have a lot of catalogs from those auctions from the past few years. What are you trying to sell and myself or someone else can let you know if they are selling the same stuff. If people want your stuff they will take a stab at it. A lot of stuff on those auctions gets recycled through ebay or other auction houses.
