I have to say, I didn't see this coming, especially not with the M's playing as well as they have this year, and especially during a 7 game winning streak in which they've climbed to 11 games over .500. I have to assume this is family related, and not baseball related. I hope all is well.

<< <i>Seattle must just be too damn depressing lol >>
Yeah I could see how a team who's 12 games over .500 and has won 8 in a row would be depressing. I could, though, see how 35 baseball seasons would wear on a guy to the point where he just doesn't want to do it anymore.

the team isnt depressing, maybe the CITY is too damn depressing, or it rains too much...or Mike went off his Prozac! lol.
Ive met him on two occasions, both times he was a class act and signed a ball and two hats. and he posed for pictures. I wish him well.
<< <i>Hargrove has nothing to do with them being 11 over 500. He has made numerous managerial blunders this year, they are better without him... >>
I don't think anyone was claiming he was solely responsible, but he has made some fantastic moves with the bullpen this year that a lesser manager might not have made.

I am hoping he's part of a package that gets sent to Chicago for Buerhle.
