He might be THE single most annoying SOB in sports, even more annoying than Joe Morgan.

along the way if he feels he has to. I also liked Howard Cosell for the same reasons.
He is more annoying than Larry Merchant combined with any of the female sideline reporters who have not bothered to learn anything about sports.
Bosox1976
i vote tim mccarver most annoying
collecting RAW Topps baseball cards 1952 Highs to 1972. looking for collector grade (somewhere between psa 4-7 condition). let me know what you have, I'll take it, I want to finish sets, I must have something you can use for trade.

Tim McCarver is by far the most annoying, irrelevant announcer out there.

45% complete.
I heard the ratings from his short-lived failed show were so bad that reruns of The Golden Girls were consistantly beating him
<< <i>He doesn't say stuff because that's how he feels, he does it to be a loud, pompous arse hole with a "unique" perspective. He tries to stand out from his peers but the schtick is now yesterday's news. Rasing his voice doesn't make his opinion any more factual.

I think I was one of maybe 100 or so people nationwide that watched that show at least from time to time.
#1 on his hate list - The NCAA with their rules and policies.
20 seconds of Golden Girls dialogue is wittier and better written than 20 hours of Stephen A. Smith.

Smith is just another gas bag full of hot air whose point isn't made clearer by him yelling at me. I can't believe he still works there.
<< <i>I may be the only person who likes him. He is arrogant and full of himself but not afraid to speak his mind and step on some toes

I kind of like him too. His NBA analysis is usually well thought out, and he makes things interesting with his personality -- the other NBA guys (except Walton) on ESPN are BOOOOOOORING!!!! He should stick to NBA analysis, though, his show sucks.
<< <i>nobody else thinks Walton is the worst /most annoying announcer in the world of sports? >>
Actually, I like Walton, too, and Barkley on TNT, who many think is annoying as well. On TNT, I like Marv Albert's play-by-play as well, even though his kinky sex scandal was rather disturbing. It is quite remarkable how Albert recovered from that -- probably a textbook case study in crisis PR management.
