The Original Hobo Nickel Society website is a good place to study them:

They can provide "Quality Designations" of hobo nickels for a small fee.
They sponsor an annual auction in January at the United Florida Numismatists Show, and will have a table at the summer FUN Show July 12-14, 2007 in West Palm Beach if you can make that. They'll be serving Mulligan Stew.
