Are coins wiped clean before they're slabbed?

I mean, how do they prevent particles from getting inside of slabs. Do they use any kind of cloth to wipe the coins?
Seems something would get caught inside the slab if there wasn't a method to clean them?image

Can it be air? Wouldn't that contain moisture?

I have an air compressor with a moisture filter that prevents moisture from exiting the air hose. I don't know the answer to your question though.

I hope they keep the grading area clean but I have seen many holders with particles in them, I assume most got submitted with the particles. The one I hate most is in an older green holder that has a hair poking out from the rim.

I try hard to be sure nothing is on the coins or in the flip when I submit but it's tough since my desk is not exactly dust free. image

Apparently they don't do anything based on the numerous slabs I've seen that included lint, hair, dandruff, food particles, and other debris.
