Are coins wiped clean before they're slabbed?

I mean, how do they prevent particles from getting inside of slabs. Do they use any kind of cloth to wipe the coins?
Seems something would get caught inside the slab if there wasn't a method to clean them?

I have an air compressor with a moisture filter that prevents moisture from exiting the air hose. I don't know the answer to your question though.
I try hard to be sure nothing is on the coins or in the flip when I submit but it's tough since my desk is not exactly dust free.
