I recall someone said you can not list grade opinions in eBay titles, but what about descriptions?

Can you state a grade opinion of an uncertified coin in an auction's description?
Thanks, Richard.

Yes, as long as you say the grade is your opinion. What eBay is trying to do is prevent say someone searching for a certified MS65 Morgan and finding your auction because you have MS65 in the title.

I think that is a good thing eBay is doing. I always state that the grade is my opinion if the coin is not certified, so I will have no issues then.
Thank you all for the responses.

Sean,
Someone made a post some days back about eBay pulling their auctions because they had a specific grade in the title of the auction. The coin was not certified by any grading service. So, I think eBay is on the right track and I applaud them for this effort.
My question was whether or not I can list a grade opinion within the auction's description. I was pretty sure I could, but I wanted to make sure.

As long as the coin is certified by some grading service, then yes, that is fine. So, if you have a PCGS MS65 coin, then title it as such. Same goes for ANACS, NGC, ICG, PCI, etc. As long as it is slabbed is what eBay is looking for. That was my understanding.

Has Ebay just not caught them?

This is Meg' sandbox and she (and the other powers that be) can make the rules. They can be ridiculous rules and even misguided well-meaning rules to protect ones from oneself. However, I would like to know how they handle raw grades in lot titles for eBay Live auctions for Heritage, Superior, Stacks, ... Will they force the cataloguers' hands to remove their grading opinions or not allow them to sell raw rarities? I doubt it since they represent real $$$ to the eBay shareholder bottomline.

I think the intent discussed here is to prevent keyword spamming like "MS65" together with "PCGS $2500" on a ten-dollar slider in a cardboard flip. The other is to prevent sellers from listing a made-up slab company's "grade" and then ripping off PCGS' and NGC's price guides and putting them in the description.
