Colorado Springs Coin Show Report

I took the bus from the ANA headquarters to the show, and arrived at the Phil Long Expo Center at 9:30. I did a quick circle of the bourse. My first pickup was an unattributed 1884-O/O Vam 6 Top 100 in an NGC MS-64 holder. I then picked up a 1964 mint set in a cardboard holder. All of the silver coins in it have great toning. I then picked up a 1900 AU-58 $5 gold piece in a PCGS Doily holder. I picked up a total of 4 1952 proof sets. One has a Cameo half dollar, and three had great toned coins. The three with toning all had Superbird 1952 quarters. I picked up a 1946 DDR Walking Liberty half in AU-55/58 and also one in F-12. I also picked up an AWESOME™ toned 1971-S Ike Dollar in ANACS MS-62. I showed it to Phil Hildenbrand(one of my instructors in the beginning coin grading class) and he said it looked like an MS-64. It was a very fun show for me, and I was able to pick up a lot of nice varieties.
I would post pictures, but I don't have my photo setup with me.

I'm glad you had a great time and I wish I could have been there. I would love to see some pictures when you get the chance. I hope to see you next year at Summer Seminar. It was great getting to know you and what stuff you like to collect. Have fun at the Advanced Grading Class and make sure they teach you how to grade Walkers because that AU53/55 coin is probably a MS62 and you just think it's ugly!!!
BTW- since arriving home, I've discovered that I had a RARE PCGS 1970-S PR64DCAM Large/ Small Date and it's worth about $350 or more.
I'm going to be at the Coutryside Show next weekend and I'll post some of my cherrypicks then.
Take care,

the half eagle is a supreme widget, the doily holder does not
matter.
4 1952 proof sets?
is this like your warm up before you slap it all on ebay?

Knowing him, he will probably send them in for slabbing before tossing them on ebay for a small profit. But man, IRCW finding 4 1952 proof sets is amazing. Were they all in original boxes?

Nope, They were in capitol holders, which is probably what gave them the toning.
