Lou Pinella - Mad Genius

Cubs win today after a fantastic comeback, even after going down 0-5 in the first inning against the red hot Brewers...Cubs have now won 7 in a row, and are playing with real intensity.

It wasn't that long ago that many commentators said that he had lost his team, his managing ability, and his entire clubhouse after the brawl in the dugout then his next day antics which got him suspended for 5 games. All he's been able to do since then is bring a fire to a team that was woefully underperforming, despite everyone saying that veteran players don't or won't respond to those types of blowouts.

Anyone close to the Cubs seen the same dramatic change in playing? It seems the fundamental mistakes are being limited, if not eliminated, and I remember not that long ago the Cubs being down 5 runs in the first would have had them bored and not into the game.

  • And they've still won 7 of their last 10...I didn't say every move he makes works, simply pointing out that since his tirade, the team's been on fire.

they have been on fire for almost a month. and in the end may only gain two games on the brew crew. not that the season is near over by any strech.
