SMR, Beckett???

Just a quick question and I probably already know the answer but here goes; Why are SMR and Beckett so far off in pricing. I would imagine that both publications list prices based on market activity, but when Beckett lists a card in NM condition for $12 and I look at SMR and they list the same card $75 in NM, it's a tad frusterating trying to price the damn card. Anyone have any insight for me on this?

Both are just guides and they mean nothing to me, especially the SMR which is way out in left field when it comes to hockey and autographs. The best one can do is to search for completed items which are the same or close to being the same and go by what they went for. Though you may find some went for dirt cheap to which you'll need to take in account whether the item was listed properly or not (proper title and located in the correct category).
