Presidential Coins Question

The George Washington first day covers have gone up a significant amount on ebay being that they are sold out of the mint. Would this hold true once the john adams cover sells out? I was thinking of buying 10. I was also thinking of buying 10 presd. proof sets being that they are the FIRST in the series and they might sky rocket in value once they are sold out at the mint. Would this all be a mistake if I were to do this? I am not sure what I should do and hping some of you who know more about coins can help me. I am surprised that they are not sold out yet....which makes me wonder if I should buy or not

Best guess is maybe on the Adams coin cover as it at least has a determined mintage. The proof sets, have no limit, so there will be lost and lots. Of course we do not know what that will tell us of increased profit potential.

I would lean toward get the 10 covers, and get as many proof sets as you want, but I would not speculate on those very much.

  • Well being that the john adams is the 2nd coin in the series I was hoping that it rises in value. I am sure the washington has risen because it is the first. All the covers are minted at 50,000 total. I see what you mean and I was just going to buy some proof sets for the heck of it being that they are the first in the series and see what happens..

They are at least much more attractive than their business strike counterparts.

I dunno, UnrealT~! Maybe you should get the shield belt and the antigrav boots, pick up your plasma gun or shock rifle, and do some Fragging!
