I sent a PSA 8 1971 Maury Wills to the winning bidder in my ebay auction. I received an email last night stating that the holder was cracked in half. He said the card was probably okay. I sent the card in a bubble wrap envelope with extra bubble wrap around the card- first class fully insured. What do I do? Do I refund the money right away or what. How do I present this to the USPS? I absolutely will refund the money. Do I refund the postage also. It was 19.99 plus $3 fully insured postage for a total of 22.99. Would the buyer have to send the whole broken thing back to me. Any advice would help.
Thanks guys,
Mickey71

If he wants is refund, you have him send it back to you with delivery confirmation and re-imburse him for it. Just like i did last week on a ungraded card that the USPS damaged. That will be your evidence when you file your claim.
If you take it to the office you shipped it from, and bring your receipt and a copy of the ebay auction printed out, he can reimburse you right there for such a small amount. Shouldn't be a big deal at all.

Fold the cardboard in half and stuff the slab inside, then tape the 3 open sides with a small piece of tape.
Never had a problem.
How do you know you're getting the same card back , the one that was slabbed by PSA ?
What gets me is , these cases are not that easy to break .
Something stinks . . . .
