Can anyone ID this Johnny Bench sticker/card ?

Hi all
About once a year i bring this sticker/card out, scan it, and see if anyone knows anything about it. Well, here we are.
I can tell you it is blank backed and it is 2 1/2 in. W by 3 inches H.
I know Bench stuff, even the really oddball, but this one has me stumped, and no one (yet) has been able to tell me anything at all about it.
Can you ??

Thanks, Lee

I can't help at all, but that is absolutely awesome. I've never seen anything like it. I'm curious, how long have you had it and if you don't mind how'd you come accross it?
Abe
I was thinking it may have been a Keds card, I think Keds issued some cards in the early 70's and I am almost sure Bench had one, But I thought that was a hand cut card not a sticker.
keeping my ears open for oddball cards of Rose from the 60's and 70's.
TB, not one letter. i`ve had every keds card of Bench ever made, This is not one of them.
Heres a little something the seller told me (but he was not quite sure if it was true or not),,,,, he thought the card might,, might have been included with the purchase of some socks ??? Notice the little jingle on the card "These are my favorite type of socks" ???

Mr Fisk has significant knowledge on many oddball cards, but he has never told me he knew of its origin.
And we have talked at length about many Johnny Bench card issues.
Hold on to your money.

We Bench collectors, have an intrest in your integrity, not your greed.
You could delete your post here, and start a new one.
Thanks, Lee
That is quite a nice oddball card you have there. The only time I have ever come across it have been the times that you have shared the scan on these posts. Nice to hear from you again.
By the way, I just added a couple of new Bench cards to the Registry...1969 Reds team issue postcard and 1983 Topps Foldouts.

So nice to hear from you, really, its been awhile
How are you ?
You are a fine Bench collector, Thank You

That was my initial thought, too. Perhaps a company like Botany 500? The photo is from the early 70's, because he's still wearing a belt (although it's always possible that the sticker is from later and simply used an older photo.)
I also wonder if the use of this particular image was to avoid the registered logos? If so, it's quite a creative way to get around that problem w/o hurting it's visual appeal.
GDM67, good point, no reds logo in pic. (private contract between Johnny and ????) no mlbpa or reds. BUT WHO ???????
Metalmike, could be, but i have never seen another type card with a different player on it,, have you ??
Ha well,, maybe next year ??
BTW, there is a collector down Cinnci/kentucky way,,, Rodney Hamilton,, who has the the best Johnny Bench collection (of all items) in the USA. IMO.
I have had a number dealings with him (great guy, a plumber i believe) He also, has never seen this sticker/card.
Redlegs, ( Phil, current Bench master set leader) your down that way, have you seen his collection??
Anyway,, thank you all, Lee
I still have no idea on this one. Be nice if someone could locate another sticker even the least bit similar (another player or another Bench sticker with a different tag line). My guess would be that it was issued by a local Cincinnati company, but even then it seems like someone on here would have the scoop on the producer.
Good luck!!

I agree, probably a large local (cinnci area) dept. store. From the 1970`s era. Were you living in that area around that time frame ?
skinpinch,
I`m not against that at all,,, but,,, who what when where and how ?? at a show perhaps ??
LEE
He is usually on the celebrity golf tour. Check where and when they will be...and if he will be on that particular tour. It also isn't a bad place to get autographs.
I think that could be shadows,, ??
And my fault, but what is "collectors issue" ??
Thanks, mike
Is SSPC classified that way? I always thought they had an agreement with the various licencing groups that, because of their limited production, made it a fairly legitimate issue.
