I always thought that it stood for Topps Chewing Gum until today. I was looking on the back of the recent SMR with Brian Sneider on the cover. If you look on the back, it has an unopened box of 1960 cello packs. On the box it says "Trading Card Guild". No where does it say "Topps". I've always wondered why the cards didn't say "Topps" until the 1980's (I think).

Topps had a separate name for their card companies in Canada and England. What were they?
