A gaggle of NEWPS (Rotsa pix!)

[These are just the Darkside toners. The Lightside toners are posted here if you're interested.]
Here's several weeks of newps. Not included are a bunch of proof/prooflike coins that I just haven't had time to image, since they take longer. I may photograph them at a later date. I'm expecting a number of colorfully toned Canadian dollars in in the next few weeks, including a 28-piece cased bulk lot on the Bay (I first asked the seller if they were toned or black & white, and she apologetically said that it was hard to keep these from toning due to the way they are packaged from the mint and that they were pretty well toned... oh darn).
Most of these aren't high grade. The goal was to find coins that conformed to"The three Cs": Color, Character, and/or Crustiness.

Like the woodgrain toning of this one.

This one was just so cool looking that I had to buy it... but I have no CLUE what the hell it is. I'm told it's from Saxony ca. 1480, but I have no idea how accurate that is. Any ideas?

First one of these I've seen in deep dark purple.

This one is amazing in hand. These usually don't come colorful.

These pics don't show it, but this one is PHENOMENAL! You can see the frost on all of the devices. What you don't see is just how prooflike the coin is. It's the nicest of this type I've seen (there are ones that have a higher technical grade, but this one has eye appeal out the wazzoo).

Just lovely pastel color to this one. A bunch of cuds and diebreaks as well.

Not high grade, but I liked the color on this diminuitive piece.

These just tone great! I have another one that I pulled out of the foreign melt bag that has similar toning.

I've always liked this design, but I only ever see them either blast white or dipped out. These just don't show up toned. So when I saw this one...

Not a high grade example, but certainly the most colorful I've ever seen. This one stopped me in my tracks as I was flipping through the box.

<< <i>I like that 5 yen...a humble coin, but that one is neat! The caballito is cool too. Are any of these likely to hit your ebay shop?

Doubtful on the more colorful ones. I hardly ever part with my toners.

<< <i>Your mystery silver coin is a silver groschen/gros/6 kreuzer from Tirol in Austria. >>
Thanks Josh. Any idea on the time period it was minted and approximate retail value?

<< <i>Whew!!That is a great haul - where do you find these? Do you have a secret store known only to you????

One of the slabs came from NEN, the other came from... I honestly can't remember where. The rest came from trolling through another collector's collection that he was willing to part out.
I haven't photographed them yet, but the foreign melt bag at the local dealer produced about 8 Peruvian 1/2 Dinero pieces from the the turn of the century, ranging from XF to gem BU prooflike. Neat little coins. They're not expensive coins catalogwise, but when you consider that melt is roughly 25 cents apiece, that was a nice little find.

The date was probably correct. It seems Sigismund ruled from 1439-1496 (impressive for the 15th Century), but stylistically this seems to jive with the 1486 dated thaler and half thaler from Tirol, so 1480 seems reasonable. Despite the flat spot, yours is a very nice example. Should be around $125-$150 retail.
