Washingtonia

1783 Washington token. "UNITY STATES". Breen 1188 EF-40. Choice. A glossy light olive brown with frosty golden tan toning in the protected areas. Well struck for this type and without the usual planchet striations/adjustment marks usually found on these “coins”. A similar-looking, but slightly sharper AU50 piece sold for $1,035 in the recent Stacks auction of the John Ford and Henry Leon collections on May 22, 2007. Superb in-hand eye appeal at an affordable price. $600
