<< <i>Lope, just for the record, you're stating that you're interested in pursuing 3CS (silver) not 3CN (nickel). Not that there's anything wrong with it! In fact, I think that's a great pursuit. The 1863-1872 years are near impossible to find no matter what your price range is. I've personally never seen one but I know they're somewhere out there. They're just outta reach for me.

3CN - you need to collect only 23 business strikes (no 1877, 1878, or 1886, but you'll need the open and closed "3) and/or 25 Proofs (or 26 if you want to differentiate between 1887 and 1887/6). >>

Prethren, I realized that, perhaps I should have found another thread, but there seemed plenty of talk about 3CS in here as well image

Hmmm, Well, I better get started if it's going to take me a lifetime to find the '63-'72 issues!

I'd also like to look into the 3CN and this thread has been a big help.

I do not like the design myself, but I remember checking out Bruce Scher's set and being completely floored
    by its beauty.

I would rather do a set of 3 cent silvers, that design is really rocking IMHO image
