Final Solution to Excessive S+H on Card Purchases

This new search scheme is a step in the right direction.
Excessive S+H listings will be disadvantaged in search.

Price + Shipping Sort
Bill also mentioned an important test underway. We’ve all been frustrated by excessive shipping and handling charges. Price + Shipping Sort is a new search option that sorts search results according to the total cost of the item, including shipping and handling charges. That way, buyers can choose to have the full price picture sorted by either highest total cost or lowest total cost.
We will be testing this over coming weeks with a small sample of eBay buyers. If our tests are successful, we expect to roll the Price + Shipping sort option out more broadly. Stay tuned.

It is my understanding that listings that display as "not sepcified,"
will appear at the bottom of the search results.
Seems like Ebay is getting closer and closer to charging fees on the total including S/H.
///////////////////////////////////////////////////
That's fine, but the current gang of S+H pirates are
manipulating the most popular search results function
(lowest-price first). The new scheme will prevent that
from happening, IF folks learn to search by "total price."
For example:
You are willing to spend $225 for an item that has a $20 s&h charge. $225 - $20 = $205. You bid $205. Problem solved.

That solution misidentifies the problem.
The "problem" is that sellers who are offering reasonable
S+H are being cheated out of their deserved place in the
search results.
A one-cent listing with $10.00 S+H will always
appear ahead of a $1.00 listing with free S+H, under
the current scheme. The new scheme short-circuits that
fraud, and helps the honest sellers.
