Mated Pair Lincoln Error Cents. Information desired.

I received these two coins for consignment. I don't know anything about errors. If anybody can tell me more about them I can do a better job of listing these coins. I didn't want to post in the main coin forum because I want to sell these coins and don't want to spam.

I also 21 Barber Halves currently on eBay ending tomorrow (Sunday).

I think that if you list those on eBay, you should be able to get between $125 and $175 for the pair. Unfortunately, they are not dramatic, so they would not bring nearly as money as a pair more dramatic. I will try to post a scan of one of my pair later. The minor mates are also much more common (though still scarce).
Fred may chime in with more information, but the above is my opinion.
Cheers, Richard.
<< <i>Thanks for the info Richard. My consignor thinks they are worth more than that. Anyway do you have any idea how it happened? I think it cool that LIBERTY goes from the extended part of the reverse of one coin and fits over the obverse of the other. It has me scratching my head.
Carl,
Here is how it happened:
Coin two was struck first as a broadstrike and then partly ejected from the striking chamber when coin one was inserted. Part of coin two landed on top of part of coin one, so when the second strike happened, coin two was given a second strike and coin one was struck as a broadstrike with an indent from coin two.
I might like to add that I think PCGS got the two coins baclwards. I think in the case of this pair, coin one ius actually two and two is one.
With all that said, it is possible my pricing is off, but I cannot see it going for much more than $175. Also, it appears that both coins have some sort of tarnish and are not bright red. That may be a negative in some folks' eyes.
Good luck on the sale. I will be watching it (and maybe bidding).
Richard.
but the 2000 is a LITTLE more rare than the 1999, but not much
Here is one that will NEVER sell
same date (2000) mated pair
and here is one that is more rare in date
1981 matted pair that hasn't sold
