Yup. For Series 2 Topps decided to put out yet ANOTHER parallel set. This is all the cards in the regular base set but without the facsimile autograph. They are inserted at a rate of one in every 30 packs, so in a sense one per box. I guess Topps decided that they want to make the Master Set of 2007 Topps literally impossible to complete. As for the Japanese Matsuzaka card, I picked one up on E-Bay pretty cheaply. I think they are short-printed at the same rate as the Barry Bonds card. That just means that they are slightly rarer than the regular issue card, but not super rare like the Series-1 Wal-Mart variations. (Lord knows what uber rare variation Topps will come out for Series 2).
I collect the elements on the periodic table, and some coins. I have a complete Roosevelt set, and am putting together a set of coins from 1880.
