Poll: I have a 1/2 full bottle of Change....

I have a 1/2 full Deer Park plastic water bottle full of pennies, dimes, nickels, quarters, SBAs, even a few bills thrown in. I estimate it is close to $1000 face. It is mostly silver (clad) because for the first 4 years I was filling it I wouldn't put in pennies. The last 2 I don't care what goes in.

What say ye that I should do with it?

    Well, it depends.

    Do you want the $1,000?

If you answered "yes," then do you want to lose about $100, and have it counted out quickly, or make however much is in the jar, and take a few hours rolling coins?

Or, do you want to give away the $1,000?

I would deposit it in my checking account and buy some nice Morgan(s) Hopefully your bank will count and deposit it for free; I'd take it in 10 small batches.
Frankly, unless you are saving for a reason or a goal or using it as an incentive/measuring stick in changing habitual/addictive behavior such as quitting smoking; I see no reason to amass junk change. These days its mostly a PITA to get rid of the stuff. Cash it in and buy the Morgans.
