Would You crack out a 9 ??

Would you crack out a 9 to put in a raw set ?? I see a lot of 74 Psa 9's not going for not much more than some raw cards listed as nrmt to mint. And a lot of 8's going for cheaper than some raw cards. It would be a good way to assure that you got a nice card for your raw set without having to worry about the E-bay sellers crappy grading standards.

    I have, 1966 PSA 9 OC Cannizzaro.

I also cracked a 1966 PSA 9 OC league leader card.

The highest straight card was a 1966 PSA hi number.

Not sure i would crack out a straight 9 though, I guess it depends on the year.

Below, is another example of a PSA 9.

Yours has better centering. Do not crack it! I looks super in that flip!

Nothing wrong with having a few slabbed as part of your set! Keep them in the slab!

i think people are actively doing that for sure.

i sold a psa 9 #412 mantle checklist from my (now very small) '69 master set last week for a major premium, at least vs what it had been selling for based on vintagecards yadda yadda yadda website.

i wonder how correct guy is in saying that we should be looking at sgc and other non-psa slabbed cards, NOT PSA, for potential upgrades?

Why not sell the 9 and buy a cheaper raw?
I'm building a 1968 and a 1970 Topps set. I have lots of 1970s and 1960s to offer in trade.

jak I think he wants to buy 9's with the intention of cracking them for a raw set.
