Criteria for PSA meeting timelines?

Just a quick question about PSA not meeting their published turnaround garuntees.

I had a voucher for 3 "CC Specials" from a few months back. I called PSA before submitting and they said I could use it for this month's $13/5-day special.

PSA logged receipt of this submission on 6/5/2007 and today is 6/13/2007.

First question: does the first day (in this case, 6/5) count in the 5 days?

2nd question: even if 6/5 doesn't count, 5 days would have been the end of yesterday, but my sub has still not popped. What is PSA's policy for not meeting their stated deadlines? Do they give some kind of credit or something?

Thanks!

the day it's logged in doesn't count, and I'm pretty sure they are guaranteed for the day after the 5 business days. Plus they were at the show in Chicago, so they could decide not to count a few days for that.
Bottom line, you get them when you get them.

    *Guaranteed Turnaround Times (Cards Only)

PSA guarantees the turnaround times for clearly marked packages. PSA’s turnaround guarantee assures you that PSA will have grades available in the number of business days specified. For example, for Premium (Same Day),Walk-Through (Same Day), Super Express (2 Day), Express (5 Day), Regular (10 Day), PSA will have grades available the following number of days after the day our receiving department processes your order. The number of days it takes for the delivery agency (U.S. Registered Mail) to return graded cards/tickets to the submitter is not included in the number of days alloted to PSA’s turnaround guarantee. If PSA fails to meet the turnaround guarantee on paid submissions, you will receive a grading voucher equal to the number of days your order was delayed (not to exceed the total number of items). For example, if your order of 3 cards has a guaranteed turnaround time of 10 business days but was completed in 13 business days, you will receive 3 grading vouchers for the same service level; this excludes grading specials and complimentary submissions. Guarantees are invalid during the weeks of major card shows PSA attends. Note: Available services and turnaround times are subject to change. Visit our website at www.psacard.com or call us for a complete list of available services and current show schedule.

Very well put. You will do yourself a huge favor if you basically ignore the 'guarantees'. As Griffins said, you get them when you get them.

    Let's think about
    this for a sec, Ted.

Why would someone put a guarantee
on a box? Hmm, very interesting.

    Go on! I'm listening.

Here's the way i see it, Ted

A guy puts a fancy guarantee on the box 'cause
he wants you to feel all warm and toasty inside.

    - Yeah, makes a man feel good.
    - Of course it does. Why shouldn't it?

You figure you put that little box
under your pillow at night, the Guarantee Fairy

    might come down and leave
a quarter, am i right, Ted?

    What's your point?

The point is, how do you know
the fairy isn't a crazy glue sniffer?

    "Building model airplanes" says the
little fairy. Well, we're not buying it.

He sneaks into your house once,
    that's all it takes.

Next thing you know there's money missing
off the dresser and your daughter

    is knocked up.
I've seen it a hundred times.

Tommy: Hey, I'll tell you what. You can take a good look at a butcher's arse by sticking your head up there. But, wouldn't you rather to take his word for it?
Mr. Brady: [confused] What? I'm failing to make the connection here son.
Tommy: No, I mean, you can get a good look at a T-bone by sticking your head up a butcher's arse, but then..no. It's gotta be your bull.
    Richard: [embarrased] Wow.
Tommy: Here's the deal. If I want you..
    Richard: You have derailed.
    Tommy: Shut up Richard.
